Frittatas for All

Just wrote my brother out my recipe for the yummiest frittata around and thought I should share it here too.

Ingredients

A dozen eggs

1 onion (dice)

a little bit of milk

1 potato (thinly sliced)

1 tomato (thinly sliced)

1 avocado ( long, thin slices)

1 big chunk of feta cheese (crumble)

Frittata Recipe

-Put the stove on to medium temperature.

-Put a little vegetable oil in the cast iron pan.

-Start in with your onions and potatoes.

-While these are becoming delicious stir in a separate bowl 8-12 eggs and a splash of milk as well as a little salt and pepper.

-Also, at this point turn on the oven to about 400

-Once the onions turn brown and you can eat a potato without being sad put in your eggy mixture.

-Stir the whole thing around.

-In the next fleet you are putting in tomatoes, avocados, and feta cheese. Make sure you have big crumbles of the feta cheese.

-At this point you can no longer mix very violently. If you try and mix or stir it too much, the avocado and tomato juices will start to meld into the egg part and the colors and tastes ends up less dramatic. Now turn the heat up to its highest capacity and wait until it seems fairly melded together. It should not be bubbling, but instead seem barely liquid-y.

-Then take some oven mitts and put the frittata in the oven and turn off the stove.

-Keep it in for about 10 minutes and then start to check if the top of the frittata is getting browner.

-When it is fairly brown, put a fork in the middle and make sure it is has a hardish consistency all the way through.

-Then take it out and let it cool and eat it.

Next time

I think about cool hipster owls, I will remember what I did today.

Dissected an owl pellet in my bio lab. I found 4 vole skulls and one mouse. It was actually pretty cool.

I never ever want this.

It’s called polydactalism. Too many fingers and toes! It can happen in humans when there is too much inbreeding. The amish have had trouble with it.

Next step, ask Harrison Ford how many fingers the kid in Witness had.

*it is sad how few references I have to amish people.

Art is cool

especially when your friends are the ones making it.

My friend Ben, installed his fox he made to an outdoor art exhibit a couple days ago. It is Harriet the Fox. He is made of chicken wire and sweaters.

Reading even when it’s a bad idea

In between all the shitty school work I have been doing and what little amount of sleep I get I have been reading Her Own Place by Dori Sanders. It’s very good.

I have a better version and the cover is much more attractive.

They’re Grapes!

Had frozen grapes last night. Delicious and nutritious. Reminds me of a lot of grapey things, so here they are.

Funny video about a grapist.

This modcloth dress that inspired me to find that youtube video again.

And… jewelry for alcoholics on SterlingWineOnline.com

Wish I had a better excuse

for how bad I have been about tumbrling lately. Well my explanation is that I have been actually tumbling at the gymnastics camp I teach. I have been far to exhausted to feign excitement or humor.

In my weary stupor I have been reading East of Eden and it is very good. I recommend it to all. I really love Steinbeck. If you aren’t sure you want to commit to an author with such a long book read Of Mice of Men first. It is super short and super good. If you love that you will love East of Eden.

I am going to upload some photos and soon enough I will restore my spot on your dashboard. Get pumped.

I’ve been absent.

I am on the other side of the country for my cousin’s wedding. And it is gorgeous, but that leads to a lack of posts. So here is a picture of some giraffes I saw on my way through Seattle.

And this is how humorous the island we are staying on is.

It is beautiful here. More pictures of nicer things will happen here once I am home and upload my nice camera photos, but I must leave you with that for now.

Oh and also check out Fuck Yeah: Dinosaurs, because they posted two of my things I sent. Super cool.
